Expert Tips

You can skip sweetener and feed it as such too if you are feeding fro babies below 1 year as it is suggested to start with salt or sugar only after 1 year. Cook in low flame, make sure it gets cooked well. Porridge gets thick after cooling down so switch off  accordingly and always feed it warm. As we are making powder using raw banana, cook in sim for more time to avoid stomach upset. For sweetener, you can either add palm sugar or jaggery syrup too. You can even add karupatti (palm jaggery) syrup. While roasting, roast it low flame and do not let it brown. I used normal cooking rice we use, you can try with any other rice variety too. But always consult your pediatrician before introducing any new food. Add more water as it takes sometime for the millets to cook as with rice.
