Pizza Seasoning is a spice mix blend of dried herbs and spices. Italian Seasoning is very versatile as it can be used in a lot of dishes. The most commonly used herbs in Italian Seasoning are oregano, basil, rosemary. Other herbs are added according to our taste and preference. I always wanted to try the Dominos Style Seasoning as it is soo good and my family loves it so much. Having tried different combinations of measures finally this is the perfect recipe I formulated for Italian or Pizza Seasoning Dominos style.

Is Pizza Seasoning and Italian Seasoning different?

Yes they are different as both have few ingredients plus or minus. But I always make this seasoning which I use for almost everything so I call it Italian Seasoning or Pizza Seasoning etc. It can be used for soups, salads, starters, pizza, pasta etc.

Pizza Seasoning Ingredients

Oregano – Dried oregano is one of the core ingredient in any italian seasoning.You can use oregano flakes or slightly crushed variety. Basil – I used dried basil which was very flaky.Chilli Flakes – I used homemade chilli flakes that I had.Rosemary – Rosemary though added very little gives a nice aroma to this seasoning.Garlic Powder – This is one the main ingredient that gives flavour to this dish.Crushed Pepper – Use freshly crushed pepper. I crushed pepper from my pepper mill. You can use a hand mortar and pestle to crush pepper.Salt – Add little more than usual as italian seasoning is always a bit on the saltier side.

How to make Pizza Seasoning

1.First get ready with your ingredients. 2.To a dry mixer jar add oregano, chilli flakes, basil and rosemary. 3.Give a quick grind to crush the herbs. 4.Now add garlic powder, salt and crushed pepper. 5.Give a quick blend for just mixing. Do not grind. 6.Fill it in a dry container. I used a funnel to fill in a narrow bottle to avoid spilling. 7.Pizza Seasoning or Italian Seasoning ready to use! Enjoy with pizza, pasta etc.

Expert Tips

Always use a dry mixer jar to grind.Plus or minus the herbs, spices to adjust according to your liking and taste preference.It is your prference to have the seasoning coarse or slightly fine like I have did.You can even just mix the spices,herbs and store. The seasoning will be very coarse and flaky.I prefer to coarse grind it as it blends well with the dish when added.Instead of taking each herb seperately and adding this spice mix is very handy.

Storage & Serving Suggestion

Pizza Seasoning can be stored in a clean dry container. It keeps well for about 1 month atleast in room temperature itself. Make sure to use a clean dry spoon each time. To extend shelf life you can store in fridge which lasts for about a year.
