Jul 23, 2024 There are so many different ways to cook halibut; from baking and broiling to cooking it in the air fryer or nestled into a skillet with a sauce. I’ve included them all here to show off this delicious mild, slightly sweet, firm fish.
Spicy Halibut Tacos with Slaw
You’re going to be obsessed with these flaky, spiced pan-fried halibut tacos topped with quick cabbage slaw and the tastiest lime crema. Perfect for a quick weeknight meal, these Spicy Fish Tacos are one of the Foodess blog’s most popular recipes!
Thai Style Halibut Coconut Curry
Try my quick Fish and Vegetable Curry with a creamy, flavor-packed Thai-style coconut sauce. It hits the sweet, salty, spicy mark! Best part? It takes 15 minutes to make. Halibut lends itself really well to Thai flavors and ingredients.
Baja Fish Tacos
These Baja Fresh Fish Tacos are one of my favorite halibut recipes. They feature crisp, beer-battered fish, creamy Baja sauce, and crunchy fish taco slaw. Surprisingly easy to make, this recipe competes with your favorite taco truck! You can make it with any white fish, but halibut is a definite treat. It’s the perfect mid-week madness meal and can be cooked and on the table in 20 minutes. Serve it up with a bowl of my mashed potatoes (The BEST recipe ever) and some pan-fried asparagus. Guys, the picture tells us everything: firm yet tender halibut gets topped with Parmesan and herbs and colored with rich red paprika. Ah, man, the savory goodness is all over this halibut fillet. Have it on the table in 30 minutes and serve it with a side of my wild rice salad. I love that this recipe gets cooked in a skillet and doesn’t require me to fire up the oven. Super quick and easy. I love serving my scalloped potatoes (gluten-free) with this recipe. This 20-minute meal goes well with a bright salad (Meditteranean-style) like a Caprese or a simple arugula salad. The flavors from the mustard, lemon, and herbs melt into the fish flakes. Serve it with a side of steamed greens or mixed veggies and you’ll have the perfect dish. Did I mention the beautiful POP of green from the pistachios? The miso and soy inject a deeply savory, umami taste into the halibut. I love this little pinch of chili ponzu – so good! My Thai noodle salad with its sweet chili dressing is the perfect side to this halibut. I love using panko breadcrumbs – they take crunchy breaded recipes to another level. Try this recipe with a side of fries like my baked butternut squash fries and a dollop of mayo or hot sauce! This is a lovely recipe for serving with simple basmati rice (check out my MIL’s life-changing hack for making basmati rice). I love that it gets served on a bed of creamy spinach. Get this tasty seafood dinner on the table in 30 minutes. This fun recipe features a spicy sriracha aioli that makes this a standout recipe. You can use regular buns if you don’t have access to fancy brioche buns (which are delicious, by the way). Think sweet plump raisins, crunchy almonds and rich anchovy paste. This is a gleaming dish full of sunshine flavors and is beautifully balanced with lemon juice and olive oil. You can couls also make this recipe with trout! Keep leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container for a tasty next-day lunch. It’s easy to heat up and delicious with a simple little side salad. Except I only need 30 minutes, LOL. You can also make this with salmon for a delicious alternative. Ah, the crisp, light coating is absolutely delicious and cozy! To add to the meal; add a steaming loaf of bread! Butter slices of my easy artisanal loaf and get dunking. The gremolata in this recipe lifts it from its rich and creamy depth. Gremolata is a basic mix of parsley, black pepper, lemon, and garlic. You don’t need to add an extra carb, as the beans are bulky enough. You can add extra green veggies if you like. Fresh halibut gets poached in a light tomato coconut curry sauce. It is both gluten and dairy-free.
