This five ingredient recipe is so easy and is the perfect summer healthy dessert option.

Ingredients 

Here are the simple ingredients to gather up:

Plain Greek yogurt: The main ingredient providing a creamy and tangy base. Its thick consistency means the bites hold their shape when frozen. Maple syrup: Adds natural sweetness to the yogurt. The amount can be adjusted based on how sweet you like the bites. Finely-chopped strawberries: Fresh strawberries add a burst of fruity flavor and a yummy texture. Finely chopping them ensures they are evenly distributed throughout the yogurt mixture. Dark chocolate chips: Used for coating the frozen yogurt bites, giving the bites a rich, slightly bitter contrast to the sweet yogurt and strawberries. Dark chocolate goes perfectly with the tartness of the yogurt and the sweetness of the strawberries. Coconut oil: Mixed with the dark chocolate chips to help them melt smoothly and achieve a glossy finish. It also helps the chocolate coating set firmly when frozen.

Greek yogurt: You can substitute any type of plain or flavored yogurt. Vanilla yogurt is delicious, too! For a dairy-free option, use coconut, almond, or soy yogurt. Just make sure it’s thick.  Maple syrup: Honey, agave nectar, or any liquid sweetener can be used as an alternative to maple syrup. Adjust the amount to taste. Strawberries: Swap with fresh or frozen berries such as blueberries, raspberries, or chopped cherries. Diced mango, peaches, or kiwi are yummy, too.  Dark chocolate chips: If you prefer a sweeter coating, use milk chocolate, white chocolate, or semi-sweet chocolate chips. Flavor additions: For extra flavor, add a splash of vanilla extract or a pinch of cinnamon to the yogurt mixture. A sprinkle of sea salt on the chocolate coating is a grown-up touch. Superfood boost: Add chia seeds, flaxseeds, or hemp seeds to the yogurt mixture.

Tools to Grab

Round up these basic pieces of equipment:

Mixing bowl: To mix the yogurt filling.  Baking sheet: To freeze the yogurt centers on. Microwave safe bowl: To melt the chocolate in. 

Freeze Greek yogurt mixture

In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt and maple syrup.

Add strawberries

Gently mix in the chopped strawberries.

Shape clusters

Spoon small amounts of the mixture onto a lined and prepared baking sheet. Freeze for 1-2 hours until solid.

Make chocolate coating

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine dark chocolate chips and coconut oil—microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring each time, until smooth.

Dip clusters 

Take the frozen yogurt clusters out of the freezer. Dip each one into the melted chocolate, making sure they are fully coated.

Final freeze

Place the coated clusters back on the parchment paper lined sheet and freeze for another hour or until the chocolate is set.

Thoroughly dry the strawberries: Properly pat the chopped strawberries dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This helps prevent the yogurt mixture from becoming too watery. Re-warm the chocolate: The melted chocolate mixture will cool slightly while dipping the frozen yogurt clusters. As it thickens up, it’ll make a lumpier, thicker coating. Microwave it as needed for 30 seconds on 50% power to rewarm it and ensure a thin, smooth and even coating.
