Pin Easy Caramel Makhana recipe made with white sugar. I have already posted jaggery makhana and sugar makhana previously and this is another version of sweet makhana made by caramelizing sugar.Kids often ask for something sweet and sweet makhana is my quick fix for their sudden sweet cravings and they enjoy eating it. I usually make jaggery makhana sometimes make caramel makhana using brown sugar / cane sugar too.Actually I love sweet makhana made with cane suagr more as I love the flavour very much.

Variations:

You can add vanilla essence or any flavouring of your choice if you like. You can replace white sugar with cane sugar too. Add a pinch of crushed nuts like badam,cashew,pista etc.

Expert Tips

Do not use mix sugar until it starts to cramelize at the edges. Be vey careful while mixing as its very hot, and if it splutters may hurt badly. Keeps well atleast for 2 days in room temperature. You can even add a pinch of baking soda.
