We celebrate Aadi 18 each year. This is to thank god for the sufficient source of water we get every year and for the well being and tribute to it.

How we celebrate
We celebrate Aadi 18 every year by making pooja near the water tank and tying sacred yellow threads, we usually tie it around our wrist but it is said that married women tie around their neck. We usually have the custom of making sacred yellow threads the previous day itself by dipping white thick thread in turmeric water and letting it dry. The next day we make a small pooja near the water tank or pipe in kitchen and tie the thread in our wrists.
